The economic stimulus package

Today was VEISHEA.  Don’t know what that is?  Check this.

Generally we make an effort to go to VEISHEA.  It’s really fun.  But the weather was crummy and the last thing the children needed a week after Easter was more candy.

Instead, we decided to go to the Big Fancy Mall.  It was the children’s idea.  They wanted to use the Build-A-Bear gift cards the Easter Bunny left for them.  Stupid Easter Bunny.

So off we went to the Big City to get stuffed animals and lay in supplies.

The children managed to survive in the mall for a whole five minutes before the siren song of Build-A-Bear proved to be too much for them.  Tom beat a hasty retreat to the bookstore and I descended into the depths of Dante’s Inferno.

The good news was the children were decisive and had their animals and outfits picked out in a hurry.  The bad news was that Build-A-Bear on a rainy Saturday is not a good place to be.  There was a tremendous queue for the stuffing machine.  And of course only one employee manning said machine.  Grrr…

After a delicious lunch at Chik-Fil-A (I LOVE Chik-Fil-A) we hit Williams Sonoma to get more Illy coffee for the espresso machine, and The Body Shop for more stinky shower gel for me (well, I don’t think it’s stinky but other members of the house do).

The last stop was Old Navy.  And once again I was rudely reminded that I am way too old and decrepit to shop at Old Navy.  We did find a skirt for the Prncess though.  She needs one for her orchestra concert, which I think might be next week.  Nothing like a little advance warning.

When we came home I took the C-man for a haircut.  Tonight I will order pizza for the children and the babysitter and Tom and I will go out to dinner.

That’s a lot of economic stimulation for one day.  Barack Obama would be so proud.
