I watched the Rose Bowl in its entirety last night. That’s four hours of my life I can’t get back. Actually the first 30 minutes or so were alright. Of course, that was the pregame show, but that was fun to watch. Kirk Herbstreidt annoys me though. He is still such a Buckeye, and he can’t seem to be objective about other Big 10 teams. Or maybe that’s just me. Remind me Kirk, who was it who beat the Buckeyes this year?
So USC opened up a huge can of whup-ass on the Illini as expected. I feel bad for them. I think they were way out of their league (The Illini, not the Spartans). They probably would have been better off playing in one of the also-ran Bowl games. They got to the Rose Bowl on a fluke, and clearly they didn’t belong there. I would hate for that to take away from what was a truly remarkable season from the Illini.
Maybe next year.
In other news, I am starting to pull myself together for tomorrow. I have to do all the laundry, and charge all the electronic devices. Right now we are all wearing our pajamas, and the last load of was (I hope) is in the washer. When it’s done I can reload the space bags and start the suitcase origami again to get it all back in.
I am also making a list of everything that is in each suitcase. I should have done that the first time around. I think I may have mentioned that in my last post. I guess I could read it and find out, but I don’t feel like it.
Tom and I are also made a run to the outlet mall this afternoon. We got a couple of things at LL Bean. We were looking for another wheeled duffel bag but struck out there. I found another fleece cardigan to wear under my jacket. That way we can leave the big winter coats here at my in-laws and pick them up on the way home. Or, depending on how much the children grow this winter, we can just drop them at Goodwill on our way back through town.
I think that’s about it for now. I’m not looking forward to the next two days. I love to travel, but getting from point A to point B is always such a nightmare.
